| Imperialism became very popular at the turn of the 19th century
for the principle European powers. Africa and Asia were carved up into little
pieces and taken by the countries. The countries mostly wanted their resources,
but the church also wanted to convert the ‘heathens’ to Catholicism.
The Europeans forced their ways on the natives, and all but destroyed them. |
