| Council of revolutionaries set up in Paris. The city was
attacked externally but the Germans, and internally by the disgruntled citizens.
It was patriotic, and anti-German, anti-upper class rule. The republicans
as they were also known as managed to take control of the parliament in
the 1880s, and brought about changes leading to the first world war. |
