| Written by Charles Darwin describing the theories of evolution
and natural selection was a new and more modern way of understanding how
the animals on the planet became to be, and how humans evolved from lesser
species over time. This of course displeased the Catholic church, which
was trying to feed the population the creation story, but when Darwin came
along and gave more concrete evidence of evolution, the Church had to do
a lot of explaining. |
