| Declared that a general alliance against France was impossible,
and the Continental European countries were more worried about themselves
than France. With the First Coalition eliminated, Napoleon was free to take
over the continent. He was never able to go after Brittan, for they had
a far superior navy. The British navy was also the defeat of the second
coalition. |
